FYI

We are leaving to go see Auntie Jess graduate, so there may be several days worth of pics posted at one time. But we will have our camera at the ready to show off beautiful and exotic Indy and those wonderful Hupps :)!

GO STATE!

Since I was working over the Memorial Day weekend, I had to grab some pictures while I was on my way to work. As you can see we have the stunning downtown KC skyline (this pic doesn't do it justice) and Architectural Salvage, a place I am dying to go which is chock full of old stain glass windows, wood carvings from old buildings, and the like. At last, I had something to entertain me during the 40 red lights between the highway and my work :)!

It takes very little to make my day, but the top three things that made my Saturday morning fantabulous are:

Time with my favorite guys...
...a great breakfast (how could bread possibly be more wonderful? Put cream cheese on it!),
and of course...

Ladies, the day I dreamed of and never thought would come has arrived...I have found a man who likes to shop! He'll go to any store you want without complaint, lets you shop for as long as you like, and all her asks in return is that you feed him...

...and occasionally let him play peek a boo with that cute baby in the mirror :).

Isn't it funny that for all of the perfectly posed pictures we strive for...
it's the spontaneous ones that are usually the funniest :)? Grandma & Grandpa Bryan came to take us out to dinner tonight before we leave for our Indy trip. Monkey founds Grandpa's nose (and Grandma's finger) quite tasty :).

I love trying to be a tourist in my own hometown and this week I discovered the awesomeness of two places: Crown Center and the Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead. Deanna Rose is amazing, it's 12 acres of petting zoos, playgrounds, fishing ponds, dairy barns, and lots of educational stuff...and it's free! It was raining when we got there but it ended up being a perfect day :).

Above is one of many "creative outfits" adorning the windows downtown on our way to lunch. I am tempted to by the green fishnet number for The Hubs to wear for his birthday...
We also had a great time at lunch with Megan, Angie, and Rich...bless them for not shrieking and tossing Monkey back at me when he'd spit up on/near/in front of them :).

Once a week, Monkey goes and visits his lady friends at Day Care. They keep in well supplied in toys, hugs, and general entertainment, however when he comes home is exhausted and has been known to fall asleep during dinner...

And he has discovered a tasty little snack located conveniently at the end of his ankle...

There are two kinds of sleep when you are a mom: "on call" sleep and "coma" sleep. On call sleep is what you get most of the time, you're resting well but always have an ear out for the monitor, stirring whenever you hear a sign from the other room. Coma sleep...ahhh, blessed coma sleep, is what you get when someone you love and trust is watching your bambino. I usually wake up in the exact same position I fell asleep in. Ahhh, wonderful coma sleep...

One of the first things I see when I walk in to work...

Today was the perfect spring day, so we headed outside to take it in. This was Monkey's first time to touch grass and lay in the sun...it sounds hokey, but it amazing to watch him experience that for the first time...laying in the sun looking totally and blissfully happy :).

I saw this when I was out and about in a part of town I am never in, and as those of you who know me know, I have a special Matt or two in my life. However, if someone came to me and said, "We'd like to name a street after you!" I would probably go with the more formal "Stephanie Ave" rather than "Steph Rd." Either way saying you live on Matt St is a change from Blooming Meadow Blvd and Towering Oaks Way :).

I drive by this little house often and can tell by it's surroundings it used to a thriving farm. Looming up behind it are houses that can't be more than 10 years old. Every time I drive past it, I wonder what it looked like in it's heyday, with kids running around on the lawn and people sitting on the porch. I wonder how long it's been sitting empty and whose life story took place here...

We are all battling the sniffles right now, The Hubs called in sick and stayed home with us, a rare treat :). Highlight of the day was some family snuggle time and listening to Monkey laugh (he was feeling the best of the three of us)...

Monkey in line for the bath tub...love his little profile :).

The Project 365 group on Flickr has a Weekly Challenge list from 2007, so I am starting off with that. Week 1: Your Shoes. My shoes do not look like too often (propped up that is). But my LL Bean slippers are heaven...like a mini, portable, fuzzy hug for your feet. I was never a slipper gal until now...
