When people find out you are a pediatric nurse, they usually say "Oh, I don't know how you do it." I usually say two things: 1-I have an easy job compared to the social workers, they are saints! 2-After working with kids, I don't think I could ever work with adults. What gets you through the hard parts of the job are the inspiring stories you see, the amazing kids (and families) you work with, and of course, coworkers who share your same sense of humor.

Poor Laurissa made the mistake of telling us that she hates touching cotton balls...more specifically, the squeak that dry cotton balls make when you push them between your fingers. So of course when she was off in a room, we put cotton balls in her pockets, work bag, and all over her work station. To her credit, she did a good job of removing them without actually touching them. However she did tell us that wet cotton balls are okay, so we filled her cup with "SAFE" wet cotton balls:
